Corporate responsability programme
In late 2007, Oriola-KD initiated a new corporate social responsibility programme used to allocate donations in a centralised manner for protecting the Baltic Sea: Oriola-KD is one of the main sponsors of the WWF's Mermaid programme.Operation Mermaid Finland is WWF's major campaign for saving the Baltic Sea. WWF started Operation Mermaid in 2001 to save the Baltic Sea - the world's most polluted sea. Operation Mermaid takes effective action to solve the worst problems of the Baltic Sea, such as eutrophication and the risks of oil transportation. "Man needs seas. Seas needs man", as the Operation Mermaid motto goes.
